Find the one place your reach is weakest, then make one move to strengthen it before a crisis removes the time. Build the network now, so truth moves fast when it matters. Revisit every 90 days.
Start with who your mission needs. Two quick questions, then name one community. That community anchors everything that follows.
The audiences your mission depends on this cycle and beyond. List the ones you already reach and the ones you still want to.
If a smear or disinfo campaign turned a group against you, whose loss of trust would cost your mission the most? These are the people worth defending first.
Just one, and be specific. This is your anchor for Step 3, so pick the one that's been nagging at you.
For each community from Step 1, mark how strong your reach is today. Every operation has strong spots and thin ones. The spots you mark weak point straight to your next move.
For the one community you named in Step 1, list the voices they already trust online. These are your bridges for getting your message in and for correcting attacks before they spread. Even two or three real names give you a strong start.
Every operation has gaps, including the biggest ones. Pick the single weakest spot that matters most, then make one concrete outreach to strengthen it. One real relationship, landed by a real date, moves faster than any long plan.
Look back at Steps 2 and 3. Name the one place where a trusted voice would change everything and you still need to find one. Naming it is the hard part, and you've basically already done it.
Be direct. Most people say yes to a clear, specific ask. Who will you reach out to, and what will you offer? Treat every outreach as an invitation to work together.
Pick a real date. A deadline turns 'someday' into done. Build it before a crisis takes the time.
Reach alone won't hold during a coordinated attack. You need people who can vouch for your work publicly and fast. One spokesperson is a single point of failure, so build a bench and connect each validator to the audience they'd reassure.
If an attack came tomorrow, where would you be without backup? Name the gap, and add it to your next-move list.
This is the part worth keeping. If you do nothing else with this map, do this. Come back in 90 days and check it off.
